AEO Recertification
Over the last couple of months, we have been undergoing the re-assessment of our AEO (Approved Economic Operator) certification by HMRC.
The re-assessment was to ensure that we were keeping to the standards, processes and procedures agreed in our initial assessment back in 2016.
AEO is a globally recognised status (through mutual recognition by other, similar Customs programs) and shows that REMET have procedures in place to ensure that we minimise, as much as possible, risks and threats to our supply chain for internal and external influences.
There are 3 levels of certification:
- Customs Simplification (AEOC) – Issued to any business that fulfils the criteria of customs compliance, appropriate record keeping standards and financials solvency.
- Safety & Security (AEOS) – Issued to any business that fulfils the criteria of customs compliance, appropriate record keeping standards, financial solvency, and maintains appropriate (physical & IT) security and safety standards.
- Customs Simplifications/Security and Safety (AEOF) – is the full certification and certifies that all of the above standards are met.
We are pleased to have received confirmation that REMET has been recertified for AEOF status – we’re one of only 350 businesses in the UK that have gained this level of AEO certification and are joined in “club” by esteemed companies such as Rolls Royce, BP, British Airways and BAE amongst others.
