Remet UK Welcomes a New Technical Director
In October 2016 Gavin Dooley joined Remet UK as the new Director of Technical Operations, responsible for quality control, technical support, NPD and R&D. He started his career researching the fundamentals of wax and shell materials before moving on to the overall process, focussing on quality, scrap and consumables.
Gavin has co-authored a number of technical presentations for ICI and WCIC conferences, covering a range of different areas of the casting process.
His appointment strengthens Remet’s position as a leader in investment casting materials and commitment to continuing innovation within the industry.
Gavin joins Remet from DePuy Synthes where he spent 5 years working in the investment casting industry.
Gavin’s Academic achievements include:
BSc in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin PhD in Investment Casting from The University of Birmingham (Expected December 2016) And is currently working towards him M.B.A. with The Open UniversityGavin is also very active and as well as a keen interest in rugby, running and surfing, he completed the 2014 Dublin Marathon.
