The 17th Annual “Shaping the Future” Award Presentation

Date posted: 30th July 2013

The REMET® “Shaping the Future” Award was established, in conjunction with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, to provide an aspiring young artist with funds and support to complete a work of art using the ceramic shell investment casting process.

The presentation of the 17th annual “Shaping the Future” Award took place on April 27, 2013.  As a special treat, REMET and the School scheduled this year’s ceremony as part of the school’s annual iron pour event at Crab Tree Farm in Lake Bluff, IL.

John Paraszczak, President/CEO of REMET, presented the award to this year’s recipient, Eoin Cullen, for his abstract bronze sculpture entitled, “The Beginning”.  Eoin’s completed sculpture was also unveiled for all to see and admire.

In attendance for this event were The President and members of the Board of Governors for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as the panel members that selected Eoin as the 2013 recipient.

REMET would like to recognize these individuals for their dedication to the “Shaping the Future” Award competition. A special thank you is extended to Carolyn Ottmers, Dept. Head, and Dan Matheson, Manager, of the SAIC World Famous Foundry, for their continued commitment to the success of this program.

Most importantly, REMET would like to thank Eoin for his hard work and congratulate him, again, on winning the 2013 “Shaping the Future” Award. We wish him much success in his future endeavors.
